The Free QR Code You Printed Last Year Might Already Be Dead

Many free QR tools make dynamic codes that stop working when the trial ends.

  • The trial trap

A dynamic code points at the vendor's redirect. Stop paying and the redirect can go dark, along with every flyer you printed.

  • Static by design

Single link codes here store the real address, so a phone goes straight to it without touching us.

  • See what is inside

The tool shows the exact text in your code before you download, so nothing is hidden.

This free QR code generator makes static codes that hold your content inside the pattern itself, so they keep working with no account and no subscription.

How to Make a QR Code in Four Steps

Pick a type, fill in the fields, style the code and download it.

  1. Pick a content type

Choose a tab such as URL, WiFi, vCard or Multiple links.

  2. Fill in the fields

The tool builds the exact format phones expect and shows it to you.

  3. Style it

Set colors, add a logo and a caption, choose error correction and the quiet zone, and keep or remove the label.

  4. Download and test

Save a PNG, SVG or PDF, then scan a test print with two phones.

The preview updates as you type.

What You Can Put in a QR Code

Each tab writes the standard format that iPhone and Android camera apps already understand.

Website URL

A menu, coupon or booking page. We add https if you leave it off.

Google review

Paste a Place ID or g.page link and the code opens your review box.

Maps directions

An address or a latitude and longitude pair opens Google Maps directions.

Phone and SMS

Opens the dialer or a text with your number filled in.

WhatsApp and email

A chat or email with the message already written.

WiFi

Guests join your network without asking for the password.

vCard contact

Name, company, phone, email, website and address saved to contacts.

Event

A calendar entry for an open house, a class or a launch.

For a printable review card with a Review us on Google header, use the Google review link generator.

One QR Code for Multiple Links, Up to 10

This mode packs your whole list into one code that opens a simple link page.

  1. Add up to 10 rows

Each row has a business name, a platform name like Google reviews, and a URL.

  2. Packed into the code

The list sits after the # sign in a localseoflow.com/q link, which browsers never send to a server.

  3. Scan opens the page

The /q page reads the list and shows one button per link. It is never indexed and every link is nofollow.

Link shorteners, gambling, betting and adult links are refused.

The tool warns you when the list makes the code too dense, and a logo lowers how much fits because it forces level H.

Static vs Dynamic QR Codes: An Honest Comparison

Static codes cannot be edited after printing, while dynamic codes can be edited but depend on a paid redirect.

This tool, static

Free, permanent, private.

  • Never expires
  • No account or subscription
  • No scan tracking
  • Works without us for single link codes
  • Cannot change after printing
  • No scan analytics

Paid dynamic tools

Editable, trackable, rented.

  • Change the destination later
  • Scan counts and locations
  • Usually needs a paid plan
  • Can stop working when you cancel

If you need to change the destination later, point a static code at a page on your own site and update that page instead.

Error Correction, Quiet Zone and Print Size

These three settings decide whether a printed code scans the first time.

Error correction L

What to pick
Recovers about 7 percent. Smallest code, for long text with no logo

Error correction M

What to pick
About 15 percent. The default for most codes

Error correction Q

What to pick
About 25 percent. Good for codes that may get scuffed

Error correction H

What to pick
About 30 percent. Required and locked when you add a logo

Quiet zone

What to pick
4 modules is the standard. Under 2 triggers a warning

Print size

What to pick
About 1 inch across for a card. Roughly one tenth of the scan distance for signs

What the Generator Warns You About

It flags problems on screen before they reach the printer.

Low contrast

A warning below 4.5 to 1, so older phones still read it.

Inverted colors

A light code on a dark background gets flagged.

Too much data

If the content will not fit at your error level, it tells you what to shorten.

Thin quiet zone

Under 2 modules, it warns that some phones may fail.

Blocked links

Shorteners and unsafe links in Multiple links mode are refused row by row.

What a Bad QR Code Costs You

A code that fails on paper wastes the print run and every scan attempt.

Reprints

Menus, signs and vehicle wraps cost money to replace when a code dies.

Lost trust

A scan that lands on an expired trial page looks careless to a customer.

No promised numbers

We will not guess how many scans you lose. One failed code is already too many.

QR Code Will Not Scan? Fix It Fast

Most failures come from contrast, size, logos or overly long content.

Pale colors or a busy background

Use a dark code on a plain light background.

A big, wide logo

Use a square icon and shrink it. Compress heavy files with our image compressor.

A dense pattern from a long link

Point to a short page path on your own site instead of a long tracking URL.

The border was cropped in a design

Keep the quiet zone at 4 modules around the code.

A blurry print

Send the SVG or the 2048 pixel PNG to the print shop.

Transparency: Where Your Data Goes

Codes, logos and files are made on your device.

Stays on your device

  • Every field you type, including WiFi passwords
  • Your logo
  • Every PNG, SVG and PDF

Multiple links codes

  • The list lives inside the code
  • Shown by localseoflow.com/q when scanned
  • Works as long as that page is online

Never

  • No scan tracking
  • No watermark
  • No account needed

Nothing you type is saved on our server.

QR Code Generator FAQ

10 answers about limits, results and how the tool works.

Is this QR code generator really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no trial and no limit on how many codes you make. There is no watermark on the PNG, SVG or PDF files. A small Made with LocalSEOFlow label is on by default under the code, and you can switch it off with one checkbox before you download.

Do these QR codes expire?

Single link codes do not expire. The address or text is stored inside the pattern, so a phone reads it without stopping at our server. A Multiple links code also holds your list inside the pattern. It needs the localseoflow.com/q page to show the buttons, so it works as long as that page is online.

Can I remove the Made with LocalSEOFlow label?

Yes. Untick the Show Made with LocalSEOFlow label box before you download. The label sits below the code and your caption, outside the quiet zone. That means phones read the code the same way with or without it, and your PNG, SVG and PDF files come out clean.

Can one QR code open more than one link?

Yes, up to 10. Use the Multiple links tab and add a business name, a platform name and a URL for each row. Scanning the code opens a simple page at localseoflow.com/q with one button per link. That page is never indexed, and shorteners, gambling and adult links are refused.

Can I edit a QR code after printing it?

No. Static codes, including Multiple links codes, store the content in the printed pattern, so any change means a new code. If you expect changes, point a single link code at a page on your own website. Then you can update the page whenever you like without reprinting.

How do I add a logo to a QR code?

Upload a PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or SVG under 5 MB in the design options. The logo sits in the center on a small background patch, and you can size it up to 22 percent of the code width. Error correction switches to H automatically, so the code still reads.

What size should I print my QR code?

For a business card or table card, about 1 inch across is a safe minimum. A common rule is to make the code about one tenth of the scanning distance. So a sign read from 10 feet away needs a code close to 12 inches wide. Use the SVG for large prints.

How do I make a WiFi QR code?

Open the WiFi tab, type the network name and password, and pick the security type. Most routers use WPA. Tick hidden network if yours does not broadcast its name. Guests scan the code with their phone camera and join without typing. The password never leaves your browser.

Does it track how many people scan my code?

No. Static codes go straight to your content, so there is nothing in the middle to count scans. If you need numbers, point the code at a page on your site with UTM tags and read the visits in your analytics. Our GBP UTM builder can help you tag those links.

Do the codes work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Both iPhone and Android camera apps read standard QR codes without any extra app. WiFi, contact and calendar codes use the common formats those phones expect. Always scan a test print with one of each, in normal room light, before you print a full batch.
